DISTINCTIVE DESIGN
Mazda is known for its design philosophy. This approach to craftsmanship and design is not merely embodied in the MX-30 — it is evolved through the vehicle’s meticulously sculpted and simple yet stunning form. For Mazda to craft an EV means that it must live up to our exceptional standards of design.
Inside and out, MX-30 emphasizes a new “Human Modern” concept that combines the appeal of futuristic design with a sense of familiarity. The exterior proportions give the crossover a feeling of strength and beauty, while the minimalist style offers a sense of sophistication expected of Mazda vehicles. Opening the new freestyle doors provides a unique view and a refreshing way of experiencing the vehicle.
WELL-CRAFTED INTERIOR
The interior continues Mazda’s minimalist design language with feelings of lightness and openness. The driver-centric approach lays out the latest technologies and controls in a way that is welcoming and helps provide a sense of confidence while driving.
The floating center console is a new design brought first to the MX-30. Ergonomically designed, it features an electronic shifter, a familiar multi-function commander knob, and shortcut buttons that will help occupants to safely operate the Mazda Connect infotainment system. In front of this layout is a new seven-inch touchscreen that displays the climate control panel. The touchscreen is flanked on each side by tactile push buttons that also operate the climate control.
The MX-30’s well-crafted interior extends to its digital experience. Mazda Connected Services allows1 users to monitor and control the state of the MX-30 remotely through the MyMazda App. This includes locking the doors and adjusting the climate control as well as checking the battery status and charging process.
UNIQUE, SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
Mazda prides itself on craftsmanship and blending complex, quality materials to develop elegant interiors. This attention to detail is evident in the MX-30. For the first time ever, cork makes a special appearance in both the new floating center console and the door grips. Its use does more than add texture and visual warmth to the cabin — it is a subtle nod to Mazda’s commitment to the environment as cork is one of the most highly renewable and eco-friendly resources available. Beyond its environmental impact, using cork has an especially significant meaning to Mazda as it also pays homage to our origin as a cork manufacturing company more than 100 years ago.
In creating this open-feeling cabin, Mazda paid particular attention to selecting the right materials for each space. While the console tray is the perfect spot for showcasing cork, the door trim features an airy texture thanks to a material made from recycled plastic bottles. Warm grey upholstery is accented by tan stitching that nods to the earth-toned cork details. Combined, the MX-30’s interior offers a subtle, mature design that is all at once airy and welcoming.
