This system curbs sudden acceleration when the driver steps on the accelerator by mistake, by unintentional pedal operation. The system comes into effect if the driver presses the accelerator pedal more than a prescribed amount when the vehicle is stopped and the laser sensor detects an obstacle in front. It checks sudden acceleration by curbing engine output while alerting the driver with an alarm and a warning light displayed on the meter display. Pre-Crash Safety Technologies are designed to reduce damage and/or injuries resulting from accidents. However each system has its limitations, and no safety system or combination of such systems can prevent all accidents. These systems are not a replacement for safe and attentive driving.
