Mazda Named Top Performance Automaker in Kelley Blue Book 2019 Brand Image Awards

Kelley Blue Book, a leading vehicle valuation and information source, has recognized Mazda for the second consecutive year as the Top Performance Brand in its 2019 Brand Image Awards. Representing the combined wisdom of the American car-buying public, the 11th annual Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards recognize automakers’ outstanding achievements in creating and maintaining brand attributes that capture the attention and create enthusiasm from the new-car buying public. “We work hard to focus on what the driver wants – cars that are engaging to drive with our unique Kodo styling and our inventive engineering. This commitment to our customers is what pushes us to continually make improvements. We are honored to have this dedication recognized by being awarded Kelley Blue Book’s Top Performance Brand award for 2019,” said Dino Bernacchi, chief marketing officer for Mazda North American Operations. “Mazda is a company made up of skilled craftsmen, and we will continue to infuse each vehicle with the soul and passion of our talented people.” more Determining the winner of the Brand Image Awards is not just based on a moment in time or a quick online poll. The 2019 Brand Image Awards are determined by consumer automotive perception data from Kelley Blue Book Strategic Insights’ Brand Watch, which is an online brand and model perception tracking study. It annually taps into more than 12,000 in-market new-vehicle shoppers who research purchasing decisions through Kelley Blue Book’s official website, KBB.com. The comprehensive study provides insights on what factors new car buyers take into consideration when making their purchase decisions. The study also captures brand and model familiarity and brand loyalty among new-car shoppers. “Mazda vehicles are engineered to be intuitive and exciting to both the driver and passenger, which is something that resonates with consumers,” said Hwei-Lin Oetken, director of strategic insights for Kelley Blue Book. “This is Mazda’s second consecutive award for Top Performance Brand, which is validation of the Mazda team’s steadfast commitment to building familiarity and loyalty among consumers.” Mazda will be presented with the Top Performance Brand award at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, April 17 by Steve Lind, vice president and general manager, OEM and Industry Solutions for Cox Automotive.

After driving the year’s new vehicles over 5,000 miles of city roads, highways and test tracks, they narrowed down the field to the top 50 makes and models. In addition to industry standards and proprietary protocols, the GHI Labs tested the new vehicles on safety, value, handling, design and technology to determine the winners. “Mazda CX-5 is fun to drive and we were impressed by how smoothly the car handled both around town and with highway driving,” said Laurie Jennings, GHI Director & Lead Consumer Tester. “With the CX-5 you feel like you’ve gotten more than you paid for,” added Rachel Rothman, GHI Chief Technologist and Head Engineer. “Its modern, sophisticated design makes it feel like a timeless, high-end pick.” more Constantly evolving, the Mazda CX-5 takes its next key step with a high-quality interior befitting a new top-tier Signature trim level. All-New 2019 Mazda3 Wins First Award: GAAMA ‘Biggest Bang For Your Buck’

Following its recent global reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the all-new 2019 Mazda3 has picked up its first award. Members of the influential Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) voted the 2019 Mazda3 as their “Biggest Bang for Your Buck” vehicle at the 2019 Atlanta International Auto Show. “Mazda has strategically placed the Mazda3 in a class above,” said Daryl Killian, president of the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association. “With all-wheel drive, sedan and hatchback options, Mazda has removed any justifiable reason for consumers to look elsewhere and with a premium all-wheel drive model coming in under $30,000, why would they?” Having sold more than 6 million units since its 2003 debut, the all-new Mazda3 is a global strategic model that has driven Mazda’s growth from both a brand and business perspective. The 2019 Mazda3 sets a new milestone as the first production model to lead Mazda into a bold new era. Blending beautiful second generation Kodo design language and exhilarating driving dynamics, Mazda3 was developed to inspire and create an emotional bond with its customers in two very distinct ways. Despite sharing the Mazda3 moniker, the hatchback and sedan models have distinct personalities—the design of the hatchback is emotive, the sedan elegant. more The all-new Mazda3 offers what few do in this segment—all-wheel drive. Combined with unique G-Vectoring Control Plus, the Mazda3 with i-Activ AWD performs exactly as the driver intends. Based on its philosophy of designing the car around the human being, Mazda has dramatically enhanced the car’s fundamental driving attributes such that accelerating, turning and braking feel completely natural to the driver. Other available features include windshield-projected, full-color Active Driving Display head-up unit, leather seats, power moonroof, signature front and rear LED lighting and Adaptive Front-lighting System. It also adds a BOSE® 12-speaker premium audio system as part of the preferred package, and paddle shifters when equipped with Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. “The automotive press has had glowing things to say about the sleek and elegant Mazda3 sedan and bold and powerful Mazda3 hatchback,” said Masahiro Moro, chairman and CEO of Mazda North American Operations and senior managing executive officer, Mazda Motor Corporation. “We’re honored to receive GAAMA’s ‘Biggest Bang for your Buck’ award as further affirmation that we are reimagining and designing cars people are excited to drive.” The 2019 Mazda3 is currently on sale starting at an MSRP of $21,000.

2019 Mazda6 Brings Safety To The Forefront

Mazda vehicles are designed with the driver in mind and having an active approach to safety can help build upon a premium driving experience with even more peace of mind. Confident driving is better driving, and the updates to the 2019 Mazda6 demonstrate Mazda’s commitment to providing its customers with advanced safety technologies. In the previous model year, the two top-tier trims, Signature and Grand Touring Reserve, allowed customers to enjoy another level of sophistication with plenty of premium features for the midsize sedan. Likewise, customers were excited about the turbocharged Skyactiv-G 2.5T engine being added to the powertrain lineup. Following that success, for the first-time ever, all 2019 Mazda6 trim levels are now standard with the entire suite of i-Activsense safety and driver-assisting technologies. G-Vectoring Control Plus is also standard for 2019 and further improves the steering response to help the driver and all occupants experience a smooth, premium driving experience. more Mazda6 Sport comes with an efficient Skyactiv-G 2.5 engine rated to deliver 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Cylinder-deactivation technology is standard on Mazda6’s 2.5-liter engine, which shuts off its two outside cylinders in cruising conditions for even more efficiency. A quick-shifting Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission is equipped on all Mazda6 models and includes a Sport Mode that recalibrates the gear ratios for more spirited driving. Broaden your horizons with the all-new MAZDA CX-30

Mazda CX-30 is more than an entirely new entrant in the rapidly growing compact crossover SUV category…it’s a bold new statement of what such cars should be. As the second model in Mazda’s new-generation product lineup to feature the further-matured Kodo — Soul of Motion design concept, a concept rooted in traditional Japanese esthetics, CX-30 was developed in pursuit of automotive styling as a work of art. I am confident that its flowing form and refined interior will strike the eye as a singularly beautiful work of art. Beyond that, my desire is for this beauty to stimulate our customers’ creative sensibilities, encouraging them to exercise more creativity in their own lives.
