Learn more about MAZDA SKYACTIV® technology
When Driving Matters, excellent fuel efficiency should never come at the cost of performance. So, of course, our driving-obsessed engineers found a way to enhance both. It’s called SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY1. Every aspect of the vehicle is engineered to maximize driving dynamics and efficiency: from body construction and engine technology, to the chassis and transmission. Offering impressive EPA-estimated MPG ratings. Without compromising performance. SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY is just one of the ways Mazda makes driving better.
CLEANER, MORE FUEL-EFFICIENT ENGINES
Skyactiv®-g gasoline
Conventional internal combustion engines only harness around 30 percent of the potential energy of fuel. So Mazda engineered a smarter engine. By pushing the limits of internal combustion, the SKYACTIV®-G 2.0L and 2.5L gasoline engines deliver much greater fuel efficiency. With higher compression ratios than conventional engines. Simply put, SKYACTIV® engines can compress the air-fuel mixture in the cylinders to an extraordinary degree. Squeezing far more energy from every drop of fuel.

Mazda Motor Corporation would like to express our sympathy and concern for all of those who have been suffering from the novel coronavirus outbreak and extend our condolences to the families of the deceased.
Since January this year, preventative measures for the spread of the novel coronavirus such as stay-at-home orders and restriction of business activities have been taken in various countries. Voluntary restriction of activities and dedicated activities to support people’s lives and health, including health care workers, have been seen all over the world. Recently, these regulations and restrictions are starting to be relaxed, especially in Europe and North America. Also, businesses have started to prepare for the resumption of their operations while there still remains some restrictions and requirements.
In response to the relaxation of regulations and restart of business activities, Mazda dealers have been gradually taking back up their operations while complying with the restrictions and requirements in each country and region. In addition, we have resumed delivery of vehicles in line with demand while carefully managing inventory at our plants, offshore, at ports, and at dealer outlets from where we had temporarily suspended delivery. We have also been increasing production volume little by little. With the above in place, all factories in Japan, namely Ujina Plant No.1, Ujina Plant No.2, Hofu Plant No.1 and Hofu Plant No.2, will be free of suspensions and are expected to operate day-shifts only all days in June. Our Mexican plant, Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation, who stopped operations from April to May, will resume production in June. The total volume planned for June combining major production facilities in Japan, Mexico and Thailand is expected to be more than double the amount in May.

Mazda3 Wins 2020 World Car Design Of The Year
The Mazda3 won the 2020 World Car Design of the Year award, one of the special awards of the World Car Awards (WCA). The Mazda3 is the brand’s second to be named World Car Design of the Year, following the Mazda MX-5 winning the award in 2016.
“Mazda is honored to be recognized with this prestigious award,” said Masahiro Moro, Chairman and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. “While we’re pleased to receive this good news, we remain focused on the health and safety of our employees, dealers, customers, and communities. We look forward to celebrating with our Mazda family in the future.”
In pursuit of Mazda’s design philosophy, Car as Art, the Mazda3 adopts a matured Kodo design—which has received recognition around the world. Taking inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, Mazda adopted a “less is more” approach when designing the Mazda3 and stripped away superfluous elements from the car’s form. The result is a unique design that creates subtle undulations of light and shadows gliding over the car’s smooth body, crafting a natural and powerful expression of vitality. Furthermore, despite sharing the same model name, the hatchback and sedan models have distinct personalities—the design of the hatchback is emotive, the sedan elegant.
